The cover image for the ''Маяк. Культурный Вестник'' newspaper is part of my photographic experiments with everyday life. I believe that when a person spends a great deal of time carefully and patiently observing ordinary things, they begin to see beyond their material appearance and bring previously soulless objects to life. At a certain stage of skill, a camera stops being merely a device for documenting reality; it becomes a tool in the artist’s hands.
It is also worth noting that none of my images was composited in Photoshop. They are SOOC (straight out of the camera) and have undergone only color correction. I combine two important aspects: capturing a moment and adding an artistic touch.
My close attention to ordinary objects often arouses suspicion among ordinary people. Sometimes they express their suspicion verbally or call the police, the FBI, and so on. At times, they can even become very non-verbally aggressive.
By chance, I recorded what happened to me while I was photographing this particular Маяк newspaper cover.
